Bruce was our cousin and whenever we would visit his family in Copenhagen I was always in awe of them. They were a big family compared to ours but his and my father always impressed on us the importance of family. Bruce carried on that tradition very well. I remember the accident and the joy of his and our family when we knew he would be ok. He was an inspiration to all who knew him, he will be missed. Prayers and love to our NY family.

My mom would take me and my sister to the town talk for lunch and Bruce would give us pennies for the gum ball machine in the corner...even when he’d see us walking through town he’d always have pennies for us.

Bruce was and will always be a truly appreciated staple and addition to the Village of Copenhagen. I am very moved by his loss. I will miss seeing him walking daily down to Stewart's and scratching his tickets, standing at the door of UCC to assist with Lewis County Opportunities, shoveling snow in front of the post office and other locations, mowing lawns, bringing the mail to the village office, and assisting with the fire department and collecting donations during boot campaigns along with many other volunteer services Bruce provided. And yes, even the occasional grumbling which made Bruce special, even comical at times.
My condolences to Bruce's extended family. I believe God had a special purpose for Bruce and he truly fulfilled it well!
