She was Aunt Rita to me. A quiet, kind and sweet woman. I loved going to their farm, bringing the cows in at milking time and watching Uncle Gerald do the milking. After I got married I brought my husband Jay to their farm. He had never been on a farm before and it was quite entertaining for everyone. He did not know anything about cows and tended
to stand behind them when he shouldn’t. Aunt Rita made a great lunch for us that day and my husband was absolutely loving every minute of it. There was a tablecloth on the dining room table and we had freshly ground hamburgers and all the fixings. To this day my husband raves about meeting my aunt and uncle and having such a wonderful day. I wish I had been able to see aunt Rita more often. I always had a place in my heart for her because she was so much like my mother. Rest in peace aunt Rita. You were loved. ❤️❤️❤️

Dear family, We’re so sorry to hear about Rita’s passing. Rita was a good friend of my mom, Margaret (Edmonds) Russell. Gerald was mom’s cousin. I can remember being at Rita & Gerald’s house as a kid. I don’t remember much, but I do remember Rita’s soft voice & gentle manner. I remember being in the kitchen while Rita cooked and she and mom visited. I remember the wood stove Rita used. I was fascinated by it. It’s a good memory that I still cherish. Rita will live on in the hearts she touched.
