I'm so sorry for your loss. My name is Shannon and I am a nurse practitioner who worked with Shanna and we became great friends as well. She touched my life when I first met her at our outpatient clinic over 2 years ago. She was motivated, upbeat, and passionate about making improvements to our clinic and got things done! Arranged our schedules, cleaned up our work spaces, and came up with "out of the box" ideas for improvements. With all her different job experiences from nursing, to hotel management, she never ceased to amaze with her great knowledge base of so many different things. She introduced me to ceramics class and would often give away many of her beautiful pieces to her coworker family "just because". She was so strong throughout her illness and even though each treatment took a toll on her, she rallied back with persistence and grace.
I am so very grateful that I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Shanna. Such a loss of a genuine, kind, and beautiful soul. She is missed by us all daily.

So sorry for your loss of such an amazing woman! She brought such hope to our clinic and so many great ideas. She really helped the medical assistant team grow and come together. I will miss planning our dept holidays (Halloween 2 years ago was a blast thanks to her!!) She was such a positive person even thru the horrible treatments she was going through! I saw her the day of her last treatment and she was so looking forward to being done with them. We were so hopeful that the chemo had worked for her and that she would be cancer free. She was taken from us way too soon and will be terribly missed. All of us ceramics friends are going to celebrate her birthday with a party. Hope she feels the love!! Brenda

To Shanna's family: I am so sorry for your loss. I am one of the nurse practitioners that worked with Shanna at the University of Vermont Medical Center. She started her job with a very enthusiastic "can do" attitude and really helped me with out of the box ideas for making my patient schedule planning so much better. We became friends, many talks after work, exchanging pictures of our dogs. She was smart and sweet and I will miss her, as many of us will here. There were those, including myself, who were glad to hug her when she needed it during treatment and glad that she felt comfortable leaning into us for that touch.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Shanna. I remember the adorable, vivacious little blond haired girl I used to babysit when she was about 4. She was a happy little girl so full of life then that it is hard for me to picture her gone at such a young age. I remember how you and Clayton really doted on her.
