Obituary of James F. Monaghan

CARTHAGE- James F. Monaghan, 82, formerly of 222 State Street, died peacefully Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Carthage Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing. Mr. Monaghan was born on September 11, 1939, in Carthage, New York the son of the late Victor & Leona (Brockway) Monaghan. He attended Carthage Central High School. A marriage to Marsha Disotell ended in divorce. He was a self-employed contractor who worked for various companies in the New Jersey area. He enjoyed bowling, playing BINGO and dominos, he was an excellent artist and he loved chasing the ladies around at the high rise. James is survived by a son, Joseph Monaghan, Texas; several siblings, Dennis (Kim) Monaghan, Carthage; Gary Monaghan, Carthage; Annette (Leon) Williams, Carthage; Ronald (Crystal) Monaghan, Carthage; and Kathy Monaghan, Buffalo, NY. He is predeceased by his son, James Monaghan, Jr. and several siblings, Victor, Larry and Donald. He will be cremated and his family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. The graveside service will be held privately by his family. He will be buried in the Hillside Cemetery in West Carthage.
