Obituary of Wanda J. Simser
Natural Bridge – Wanda J. Simser, 73, of Meadowbrook Terrace, 21957 Cole Road Carthage, NY passed away peacefully on Friday May 26, 2017 under the care of her family and Lewis County Hospice. She was born on April 11, 1944 in Natural Bridge, NY to the late Clifford and Neva Morgan Arnold.
She married Paul E. Simser on June 13, 1969 in Natural Bridge, NY. Mr. Simser passed away in 2012.
Throughout the years Wanda worked for Nu-Art Dry Cleaners, Elderly Homecare, she was a lunch monitor for the Natural Bridge Elementary School; she enjoyed babysitting and daycare in her home, and a retired homemaker.
She is survived by her children Rita (Jackie) Langham of Jacksonville, FL; Carol (Kirby) Eldridge of Stapleton, GA; James (Coralie) Delles of Natural Bridge, NY; Paula (Danny) Bigelow, Natural Bridge, NY; a daughter in law Barbara McIntosh; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, two more expected. She is also survived by sisters in law Rita Keenan and Mary Jean Simser, her Uncle Darwin Morgan, and extended family, the staff and residents of Meadow Brooke Terrace.
She is predeceased by her husband Paul, a son Clifford McIntosh, Sisters Verna Mono, Rita McIntosh, Beverly Gadbaw, a brother in law Bob Simser, and several other brother and sister in laws.
Wanda was a member of the St. Henrys and St. Francis Church as well as the Meadowbrook Terrace Chapel, a local quilting group; a volunteer and member of Love Circle at the Fort Caroline Christian Church in Jacksonville, FL; a member of the Senior Citizen Center in Thomson, GA; and the Lowville Co Op. She was known for her homemade baked goods, donuts, and maple syrup production for the Natural Bridge Café.
She enjoyed crafting, embroidering, gardening, decorating, bird watching, quilting, playing cards, and Bingo.
Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday May 30, 2017 from 4-7pm at the Lundy Funeral Home and Cremation Service 500 State Street Carthage, NY 13619. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at the Lundy Funeral Home at 11:00am with Wayne Arnold officiating. The burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
