Heartbreaking. I am so sorry, just cried when I found out. We truly never know what others may be struggling with. I have nothing but fond memories of Bill and have known him since 6th grade. One hell of a guy friend and former football team mate... I ll never forget trying time and time again to bring down Billy in practice. He would usually trample over 3 out of the 5 guys trying to tackle him. Met Billy 14 years ago, At first i didn't know how to read him. But as time went on I got to know him and discovered hes was a very good guy. I helped him with the bar he and Cher were running at times, and in the field of construction when he needed some extra help. I first got to know Bill by serving as a ball boy for the Carthage football team. I admired his toughness, tenacity and work ethic. He was a gentleman. He was a bull. He was Carthage.
I remember coming back to visit and seeing him at Wally’s in the middle of a snow storm. He gave me a giant bear hug and shared with me how proud he was of me and my brothers. He had an infectious smile and I felt his sincerity. That night he wanted to race me in a foot of snow down Bridge Street. He may or may not have man handled me at the starting line but he did in fact beat me in that race. He was an awesome guy. I’m very sorry to hear of this news.
