Obituary of Brenda J. Bridge
CARTHAGE – Brenda J. Bridge, 68, died early Monday morning, September 17, 2018 at Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, where she had been a resident for several months.
Brenda was born on December 31, 1949 in Carthage, a daughter of the late Robert L. and Marie B. (Montgomery) Hoffman. She graduated from Carthage Central School and went on to be employed as a Taxi Driver for Day and Night Taxi. She was also a bartender at Gary’s Pub.
On March 21, 1970 she married Arnold G. Bridge.
She is a member of the Carthage VFW Post 7227 as well as the Carthage American Legion Post 789. She loved knitting and crocheting, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
Brenda is survived by a son, Robert John (Kathy) Hoffman, Carthage; a daughter, Jody Lynn Hall and her fiancé Joseph Passage, Carthage; a step-son, Eric Bridge, Carthage; a step-daughter, Renee Bridge, North Carolina; a sister, Marsha A. (Dennis) Sears, Deferiet; a nephew, Robert W. Hoffman, Carthage; a great-nephew, Brock B. Hoffman, Carthage; one granddaughter, Heather N. Hall and fiancé Jason Passage, Carthage; and three great-granddaughters, Aubryana, Brayleigh, and Harper.
She is predeceased by her husband, Arnold who died on February 7, 1998; a step-son, Arnold Bridge Jr.; and a brother, Bernard Hoffman.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 1-3 PM at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. A funeral service will immediately follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM. A reception will be held after the service at the Carthage VFW Post 7227.
