To the family of Michael Burke,
Please accept my most sincere condolences and heart felt grief for Mike's passing. As Josh's mother, of course I have some fond memories of Mike, and of course, with Gary and John when they were all in Douglas, Wyoming. I was so happy to hear that Mike gave his life to the Lord. Praise God! I was even more happy to know he found the love of his life, Jenny. The first time I met them together, you could see such love and joy in their eyes towards one another.
My favorite sayings is: God allows what He hates to accomplish what He loves. Although, there may have been times of heartache or mistakes made, God, in his complete love and sovereingty orchestrates our lives, as believers, just how they should be.
Our greatest joy and hope is that we will all be reunited when the Lord returns to take us home....and very soon! Mike's absence is just temporary...he's on a journey...home and we will meet him there.

Dear Jennie, and my cousins: Thomas, Gene, Lynn, John and Anne,
and their children:
I am so sorry for your extreme loss. Michael was always my favorite cousin.
He was born 2 days after me. We got along beautifully. Had fun on the farm, many many talks in the earlier years. Shared our faith in our wonderful Lord, Jesus Christ. Mike was instantly in the presence of Jesus when he closed his eyes and that last breath. When Mike was stationed in Vietnam, I had graduated in 1970 from LPN schooling and he mailed me a pair of earrings that were funny. I think they were in little circles and said "Alka-Seltzer" on them.
He helped me move once. A huge help.
My cousins were good to us and we had fun when we visited, and when we lived with them for 6 months in 1961.

Our condolences to the Burke family. I met Mike a few years ago at the SNU at Carthage Area Hospital. I was visiting my Mom, who was a resident there, and Mike was visiting a friend. We had several conversations over the years, and I learned that he was an unusually caring and considerate man. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
