Obituary of Joan Dixon
CARTHAGE – Joan Dixon, 77, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Carthage Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, where she had been a resident for several years.
Joan was born on December 23, 1941 in Watertown, New York, a daughter of the late George and Evelyn Rivers. Her mother passed away at a young age, and she was raised by her stepmother, the late Lily Rivers.
She graduated from Watertown Central High School and went on to work at K.P. on Fort Drum as a dishwasher and a shift leader. She then moved to Texas, and later moved back to Carthage.
She married Clinton Earl Dixon, who was also a resident at the nursing home until his passing in early 2018.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches and she loved children.
Joan is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George D. and Robin Bennett of Black River, NY; four grandchildren, Shayleigh, Sarah, Shawn and Neashka; and five great-grandchildren.

No calling hours will be held. Burial will be held privately by the family.
