Obituary of Carl W. C. Arndt

LOWVILLE – Carl W. C. Arndt, 90, of Route 26, passed away Sunday evening, June 23, 2019 at his home under the care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.

Carl was born on March 18, 1929 in Scituate, R.I., a son to the late Carl and Rowena (Howard) Arndt. He graduated from North Situate High School in Rhode Island and went on to work as a truck driver for Abbass Foods. Carl also served in the Army.

On January 10, 1952, Carl married Muriel Irene Myers in Deer River with Rev. Howard Griswold officiating.

Carl enjoyed traveling across the county with Muriel, he also loved gardening. But most of all, he loved being around his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Muriel; three sons, Alan (Valda) Arndt, Deer River, NY; Lonnie (Robin) Arndt, Carthage, NY; Merle (Pattie) Arndt, Beaver Falls, NY; a brother, Wilfred Arndt, Harrisville, RI; a sister, Winifred Arndt, Lowville, NY; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Carl is predeceased by two brothers, Everett Howard and Donald Arndt.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 3-7 PM and Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 11-12 PM at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, NY 13619. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Canon Samuel P. Lundy officiating. A burial will be held immediately after at Swinburne Cemetery, Deer River.
