Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Witham

Elizabeth A. Witham CARTHAGE, N.Y. — Elizabeth "Betty" Anne Witham, 81, passed away Saturday evening, Oct. 3, at the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, surrounded in love by her four children. She was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Watertown, the daughter of Robert & Helen Deline Hodkinson. She married Robert F. Witham on Dec. 1, 1959. Elizabeth is survived by her four children and their spouses; Kathleen (Edward) Laury, Robin (John) Kerfien, Robert F. Witham, Jr. and Helen (Barb) Witham-Washer, her five grandchildren and their spouses; Hope (Carl) Doolittle, Zach (Nikki) Bolton, Amber (Jason) Markanich, Adam (Sena) Bolton and Susannah (Jose) Laury. Also surviving are her most precious gems; Tiana and Drew Witham, Kaleb Beaudoin, Cole and Wyatt Doolittle, Elizabeth Grime, Olivia Bolton and Milena Bolton. She is survived by her brothers; James (Donna) Hodkinson, Edwin (Jackie) Hodkinson; a sister, Elsie (Robert) Brotherton; a sister-in-law, Joyce Hodkinson; and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth will be greatly missed for her love and great kindness; she was adored by everyone who knew her. She had a wealth of extended family who loved her, especially the Richard Donaghy family and too many others to count. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, a brother, Robert Arthur Hodkinson and a grandson, Brent Rexford. Calling hours will be held 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, with a funeral service to follow at noon. Her son in law Ed Laury will officiate. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Watertown. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
