Obituary of Laurene A. Gruen

CALCIUM – Laurene A. Gruen, 68, has gone to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, September 13, 2019 at Hospice of Jefferson County.

Laurene was born on March 10, 1951 in Star Lake, NY, a daughter to the late Melvin A. and Ruth M. (Boni) Stowell. She graduated high school in Star Lake, NY and received her associate’s degree in finance. Laurene went on to work as a self-employed mortgage broker.

Laurene married Gerry Gruen; he passed away on April 5, 2018.

She was an avid member of the American Legion in Reno, NV and Bullhead City, AZ. She loved her two dogs, Brandi and Squeaky. She loved to travel, go shopping and gamble. Laurene had a very strong faith and love for Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her siblings, Gary L. Stowell, Rochester, NY; Sharon Isereau, Tomball, TX; Beth Stowell, Orlando, FL; Marcy Blackmer, Cranberry Lake, NY.

A burial service will take place at a later date. Laurene is going to be buried with the love of her life, Gerry, in Woodlawn Cemetery in Fine, NY.

Memorial donations may be made in Laurene’s name to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.
