CARTHAGE – Dorothy L. "Dot" Fargo, 68, 34101 Sayre Rd., died Tuesday, January 10th at the Carthage Area Hospital.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on June 10, 1948. Her family moved to the area when she was a young girl; she graduated from Carthage Central High School. On February 25, 1967, she married David Fargo at the Woolworth Memorial United Methodist Church in Great Bend. She has been employed by the Bassett-Baxter American Legion Post #789, Carthage as a bartender for several years. Dorothy was an avid bowler; she was a nominee for the New York State Bowling Hall of Fame. She also enjoyed visiting casinos and playing slot machines, as well as spending time travelling to many places around the world with her husband and family. She was a Past President of the Carthage All Sports Booster Club as well as a Past President of the Carthage American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, David Fargo, at home and her children; Amy (Charles) Ross, Marc Fargo (Nicole DeLosh), Eric (Jessica) Fargo and Lorie Fargo, along with her grandchildren; Zaccary, Daniel, Taylor, Brandon, Cameron, Michael, Braeden, Tyler and Reilly, her great-granddaughter, Rose and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her siblings, Donald "Biff"& Debbie Green, Diane & Joe Stover, Dennis & Sally Green, Denise& Bill Hall, David "Skip" & Brenda Green, Dawn "Pixie" & James "Coco" Weaver and Doug Green.
Dorothy is predeceased by her father and stepmother, Jerry Green and Annie Laribee and her sister, Debbie Dobransky.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 15th from 12 – 4 PM at the American Legion Bassett-Baxter Post #789, 415 West St., Carthage, everyone that loved her, please join us. Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., Carthage.
