Dear Sue & family,
It's just past Christmas, and in speaking with my aunt, Jackie Bintz, I just now learned of your dear mother's passing. Please know that she had a very special place in my heart for the many, many years of friendship and caring she provided to my mother, Jeanne (Bintz) Roblin and my Dad, Johnny.
Did you know that your folks, and mine, "double dated," back in the day, in Carthage, and they would retell their escapades when we were visiting , having a holiday dinner usually, in Florida.
At Westwinds, for 30 yrs, they were almost daily chums, playing golf, bowling, going to dances and parties at the Clubhouse etc. When your Aunt Elise moved down, she became a sweet member of this group too. It really made such a great difference for me when I'd come to visit...your folks & Elise, and many times their other friends would gather at Starks' or Roblin' s.......and of course there were tales of you, from birth to retirement!! and of Steven, and Diana.
I notice that Diana lives out here in NewEngland, not far from me, If you send me her Email address, or Facebook, I'll send her some wonderful memories of her Grandmother and Granddad.
From around age 55, my mother became totally deaf, having always been hearing impaired, making socializing conversations especially hard, both for her, and the other person. You Mom was exceedingly patient with this problem, and in all the years I never heard her raise her voice, or be edgy, or critical at all, she just would repeat things, or write them out and help my mother to be part of the group and the conversation....her kindness was not lost on me, and I'm sure you've heard of it from all the folks who knew her!
I am glad to have found this site so I could connect to you Sue, and may your many memories of your Mom and Dad be a blessing and comfort to you, Craig, Steven&Stacy, their kids, and Diana, and all. Loving sympathy, Marjorie
