What a true hero and such a lost sole. I remember Austin in school but never seen that article. He died a proud man and we as Americans especially those who served with him in the Vietnam war, such as my husband Terry, are proud to have known him in our life time.
Rest in peace my friend. Your in God's arms now.

Austin was not a man of many words...but his gentleness and self preservation were the amazing qualities that made up his life as a private upstanding citizen of Carthage. Thank you for your service and RIP in the arms of your Guardian Angel.

I was very sad to read in this mornings paper about Austin. I didn't know he had been hit by a car and was in the hospital for a month. He was a neighbor for a good many years and used to mow my lawn and shovel my sidewalk. I once sent away and got him a copy of that Life Magazine with him on the cover but of coarse it burned up in the fire. I always saw to it that he had a present on his Birthday and on Christmas. I moved to a Senior Building 3 years ago and sort of lost track of him. I am very sorry and had I known he was in the Hospital I would have went to see him.

Sending our prayers. Austin lived around the corner from us. One day as I was walking my dog, I found a POW flag along side the road in a leaf pile. I went to the newspaper, to have them run a notice...Elaine knew exactly who it belonged to. It was his, and he was so very happy to get it back. He would often visit a friend on Elm Street and share his food with him. He was a true hero! May the angels carry you to the arms of Jesus!!!

Dear family of Mr. Molnar,
Even though i didnt know austin very long, he had made an impact on my life. He would always tell me stories of his time in the military. We would go fishing together by the bridge in west carthage when i was out and about. I even taught him a few things about crawdad fishing. He was a good man and will be greatly missed.

RIP Austin. You protected so many and yet so few knew much about you until your passing. Thank you for your service to your Country and your fellow man. Say Hi to Vet our other famous Veteran that no one knew much about either. You can reminisce together on old war stories. The streets of Carthage will never be the same. You lost so much and yet never complained. Happiness in the arms of God is your reward. Bless you.
