I want to express my sincere sorrow over Evelyn’s passing. I am Freda Major’s daughter.
Last fall, I spent many hours with Evelyn on the patio while my mom was in the hospital. She was fun and sweet and a blessing to me as the time passed during my visits to the hospital when my mom was so sick. Evelyn was our contact to help us understand better how my mom was doing. Evelyn will be sadly missed by my family who enjoyed visiting her in mom’s room. God bless you all. Laurie

My deepest condolences to Evelyn's family and friends. Although we have only known Evelyn less than a year, she became a good friend - such a sweet and upbeat lady. I enjoyed talking to her about all the birds I feed.When we had to move Freda to Lowville, her biggest fear and protest was having a roommate. After being by herself at home and in assisted living she wanted no part of it. However, Evelyn was the perfect roommate and I believe that Freda enjoyed having her there. Marion and Phil Goings

I started to work at the nursing home in lowville 2 years ago. Evelyn and I were friends from the very start. It was more than her being a resident and me being an aide. She reminded me of my own mother because she was so strong willed and wanted to do things on her own. There has been so many times that I would get her pants spun around while I was trying to pull them up but she never got upset, we just laughed every time. It has been my honor to be able to care for her. She cherished her family right up to the very end. You will truly be missed my friend. Rest in peace my friend.
