MINOA -- Edward Everts Turverey, 79, of 217 East Avenue, died on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at The Crossing Nursing Home where he had been a resident for a few years.
Born on July 4, 1935 in Minoa to Adelbert Everts and Stella Irene Colyer Turverey. He attended school in East Syracuse. He worked for the Railroad Company in Minoa before operating his own farm in Florence during the 1970's. He was a past member of the Florence Fire Department.
He married Violet Stone, They had three children together. The marriage ended in divorce. He then married Bethyl Francisco Downs.
Mr. Turverey is survived by his children and their spouses; James and his wife Tammy Turverey, Carthage, Linda and her husband Wayne Dalton, Champion, Robin Kidder and her companion George Ellsworth, Plainfield, Indiana. Several step children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and step grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Dora and her husband Allen Craig, Port Ewing.
He is predeceased by his wife, Bethyl in December 2014; a brother and his wife William W. and Elsie Turverey.
A private Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. Burial will take place in the spring in the Perryville Cemetery in Canastota, NY.
