Obituary of Rita Mary Cain

CARTHAGE – Rita M. Cain, 78, 106 North Mechanic St., died Sunday morning, June 21st, 2015 at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse. Born in Carthage, the daughter of James & Geraldine Baker Dawes, she attended Carthage Augustinian Academy; she graduated with the class of 1954. Mrs. Cain traveled extensively throughout the country and was employed in many different industries and positions. She was a very social person who enjoyed going to the casino and cooking for her family and friends. In 1982, she was reunited with her former classmate, Richard Martin; the pair has been inseparable ever since. Besides Richard, Rita is survived by her daughters; Stephanie Cain Waulters and her husband, Robert, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Julie Cain Dellenbaugh and her husband, Lee, Dallas, Texas. Also surviving are her siblings; Emily Frezza, Harold Dawes, David Dawes and Anita Armstrong and her grandchildren; Robby, Mikey and Joey Waulters. She is predeceased by her sister, Alma Frezza. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 24th at 11:00 AM, at the St. James Catholic Church, Carthage, with the Rev. George F. Maroun, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in New St. James Cemetery, Carthage.
